PDF Tool
Compress PDF
Compress a PDF locally in your browser: scanned or image-only pages are recompressed at your chosen quality, text pages keep their original selectable text, and editable metadata is removed. Results vary by source PDF.
Left = stronger compression, smaller file. Right = lighter compression, best image quality.
Applies only to pages detected as scanned or image-only. Pages with real text keep their original quality and stay selectable.

Questions answered
Compress PDF FAQ
Are PDFs uploaded for compression?
No. PDF compression runs in the browser and does not send the PDF to an I Love Convertify server.
Will every PDF become much smaller?
Scanned or image-heavy PDFs usually shrink the most because their embedded images are recompressed. Mostly-text PDFs may show smaller savings since their text pages are kept as-is to stay selectable and searchable.
Will compression affect my text?
No. Pages with real selectable text are left untouched; only pages detected as scanned or image-only are recompressed as images.
Can the compressor open password-protected PDFs?
No. Password-protected PDFs must be opened or decrypted in a compatible PDF application before local compression.
