Frequently asked questions
Will the colours and merged cells really survive?
Yes, when the PDF draws them as vector shapes — which is what Excel, Word, InDesign and most report generators produce. Fills, merged blocks, per-edge borders, font sizes, text colour, column widths and row heights are all rebuilt. A page that is only a photograph of a table has no shapes to read, so it converts as recognised text instead.
Why do barcodes turn into 8.43E+12 in other converters?
Because they treat any run of digits as a number. This one keeps long digit strings, anything with a leading zero, and bracketed code strings as text, so EAN, GTIN and article references stay exactly as printed.
What is the difference between the three styles?
“Keep the layout” rebuilds each page as a sheet that looks like the page. “Clean data tables” gives you one sheet per detected table with a frozen header row and an autofilter, ready to sort and total. “Plain text” skips formatting entirely.
Does it work on scanned statements?
Yes — pages with no text layer are recognised automatically on your device. Pick the document language for the best recognition; very large scans are better run through the dedicated OCR tool.
